Trevor,

Hi, just wanted to send you some pictures of the fish I caught with you at Buoy 10. I put those boys to shame thanks to you! Look forward to next year.

Trevor, thanks for a great time fishing the other day.

My son Nate and my brother Steve and I had a real good time fishing out of your boat. You were a great guide and we would definitely recommend you as a fishing guide, it was a very relaxing trip with great scenery.

Sincerely,

Mark Bailey

It is with great pleasure that I write a letter of recommendation for Trevor Smith.

I’ve known Mr. Smith for the last few years now, and understand that he is working toward guide licensure that will give him additional freedom and responsibilities for guiding customers on fishing adventures that go beyond drift boat status. I’ve been a guest on his boat on three occasions over the last year or so and have additionally observed him from my boat while floating the river separately.

Mr. Smith is very knowledgeable of both state regulations and harvesting techniques. His success statistics speak for themselves. As far as safety is concerned, I have literally questioned him a few times for being overly cautious on the river, but at the same time, I’ve come to honor his attitude and respect for the water. With the number or river hours he’s logged, I know he’s seen first-hand the power that the river holds and have heard of him recently assisting unknown boaters when they failed to act responsibly. Luckily for them, he was prepared with the proper safety equipment to be of assistance.

As far as I know, he is a man of upstanding character with solid family values, and as an elementary principal, I’ve seen enough adults (parents, staff, volunteers, etc.) to know a solid person when I see one.

US Coast Guard

Dear Sirs:

I’ve been asked to write a supporting letter for Mr. Trevor Smith which I am very glad to do.

My exposure to Mr. Smith has been through hiring him as a fishing guide. I am 57 years old and have fished for many years and not only have I spent a lot of both personal and professional time on all kinds of water bodies but I have also hired many guides but I must tell you how impressed with Mr. Smith’s approach.

First, regarding safety, I don’t believe I’ve met anyone so concerned about safety for his clients. He has demonstrated repeatedly that he puts safety at the top of his list of values. As customers this translates into us feeling more confident and comfortable and able to have a more enjoyable outing.

I particularly have been impressed with his care of his boat and equipment. Unlike many, he takes the time to maintain everything in good working order. His boat is a joy to be in as everything is organized and kept functional.

Fishing and boating involves rules and his attention to the rules does not falter as he has demonstrated that he steadfastly adheres to all rules. This kind of integrity is getting to be more rare in this day and age and I commend him for it.

Trevor appears to be a great young man and I can, without hesitancy, recommend and say that we need more young people like him

My boss is coming to town for a tour the last week in July or the first week of August.

I'd like to have him experience Oregon fishing. Barbara, Sean and I had a blast catching steelhead on the Wilson when we fished with you back in March. Having my boss catch fish like the ones we caught can only help my new career. What kind of fishing is happening during that time frame and when are you available?
